Description
Epoxy two-component protective zinc-filled primer EPPEX Zn RICH.
Scope and specifics of application
The primer EPPEX Zn RICH is intended for protective protection against corrosion of products, structures of ferrous metals, operating in atmospheric conditions, in water conditions-
salt fog, in the environment of vapors and aerosols of oil products.
The material is recommended to be used as a primer layer in complex protection systems. The coating of the primer does not interfere with the performance of welding works by spot welding or arc welding
welding in inert gas in a layer of 15-20 microns. The coating is resistant to spills of sea and fresh water, aqueous solutions of salts, oil and petroleum products. Recommended for use as a primer in complex corrosion protection systems with polyurethane two-component enamel "Polytex".
Can be used without finishing coating when painting objects exposed to atmospheric influences (category C3 atmospheric corrosion).
Information on the resistance of the material to different media is available on request.
Surface preparation
1. Degrease the metal surface to the first degree according to GOST 9.402.
2. Perform abrasive blast cleaning of the metal surface to a degree 2 according to GOST 9.402 (Sa 2½ or Sa 2 according to ISO 8501-1) with roughening, the recommended surface profile Rz from 30 to 50 microns. For hot-rolled steel, mechanized and manual cleaning of the surface to a degree 3 according to GOST 9.402 (St 3 or St 2 according to ISO 8501-1) is allowed. Application on a smooth surface without roughening is not allowed.
3. Remove dust.
If the surface preparation quality decreases, the service life and performance may change.
Application conditions
The temperature of the base is higher than the dew point by at least 3°C.
Ambient temperature from -10°C to + 35°C, when applied at a temperature ≤0°C high probability of icing surface. The temperature of the primer at least +15°C
Relative humidity not more than 80%.
The process of applying
Preparation |
The product is two-component. Component A is a suspension of anticorrosive pigments and fillers in epoxy resin. Component B is a solution of the curing agent. Mix the contents of the containers in the supplied proportions. After mixing, use within the specified pot life. The sequence of mixing: The base (component A) and the hardener (component B) are pre-mixed. Add the hardener (component B) to the base (component A) in the required proportion and mix thoroughly. Attention! Careless mixing or the wrong ratio of components can lead to uneven curing and weakening of the protective properties of the resulting coating. The minimum holding time of the coating before applying the next layer of material (at a temperature of (20±2)°C and relative humidity (65±5)%) – 3 hours. The maximum time of inter-layer exposure-6 months. With a longer exposure time before applying the next layer is necessary to grind the coating. Drying time and inter-layer exposure time depend on film thickness, temperature, relative humidity and ventilation. |
