Fire resistant materials
Fire protection is a reduction of fire danger of various structures and materials by special treatment. Fire protection is an integral part of the overall system of measures to ensure fire safety.
Basic terms of normative documents
The fire resistance limit of the structure is the time interval from the beginning of fire exposure under standard tests to the onset of one of the normalized limit States for this design (paragraph 31 of article 2 № 123-FZ).
The flame retardant efficiency group (R) is a measure assigned to a product by the fire resistance limit of the structure.
The reduced thickness of the metal is the ratio of the cross-sectional area of the metal surface to the heated part of its perimeter. The given thickness is used in calculations for fire resistance of building structures. This value allows you to move from the parameters of the building structure of one form to the construction of another form. For example, the I-beam No. 20 has a reduced thickness of 3.4 mm.
